Meet Dr. Patrick Kupiec, MD

Dr. Patrick Kupiec is an upstate NY native, growing up in New Hartford before heading to the greater Rochester area for undergrad at Geneseo. He specializes in medical and surgical dermatology along with dermatopathology, which is the examination and interpretation of skin biopsies to help identify cutaneous diseases.

Dr. Kupiec graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a biology degree. He then returned home to the Utica area to work in the local emergency department to obtain clinical experience before starting medical school at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. There he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honors society.

After an internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA he started his dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Kupiec then stayed on for an extra year for a dermatopathology fellowship.

Having developed an appreciation for the greater Rochester area during his time at Geneseo, Dr. Kupiec made the move back to Rocester to join the team. Dr. Kupiec values great communication between staff  and patients to help ensure the best care available. “Dermatology Associates of Rochester has a great balance in focus on patient care, employee happiness, and good communication with leadership,” he says.

Outside of work he likes to spend time with his dogs, reading, listening to music, playing guitar, and all sorts of video & tabletop games.
